so after leaving the shire bilbo went to visit erebor and the dwarves one last time. he saw all of them apart from balin, oin and ori who went off to moria some years earlier. he got to see erebor in its full glory, rebuilt and prosperous, just like the tales and songs he heard on his adventure so many years ago. and there was a king under the mountain, but not the one he remembered, no, his king was buried beside his nephews, deep inside the mountain, as dwarven heroes who now had tales and songs sung about them. the thought of bilbo going to see the mountain and thorin one last time is fucking me up, can you imagine him standing at thorin’s grave, small little brave bilbo,
