Studio North was commissioned to refit an old elevator shaft in a converted warehouse loft in Calgary; they built a tall, narrow library with climbable shelves whose hand- and foot-holds retract into the shelving.
I heard cursive is dying. I want to see who still uses it.
I nearly always write in cursive (unless I’m filling in a form or something & it says to print). 💖
I do 90% of my writing in cursive. It’s easier on my carpal tunnel.
Does half cursive count?
This is so weird… Almost everybody still writes in cursive here….
I developed the habit, when working in public school, of writing in cursive if I didn’t want the kids reading what I was writing. That said, the kids (teens, really – it was a high school) would sometimes call my very round and sometimes connected print cursive and say they couldn’t read it.
I can write cursive, though I have to think if I am going to write it consistently. My usual fast handwriting is a mix of cursive, printing, italic and uncial. I also do calligraphy.
The Sound of Silence is probably one of my favorite songs ever. When speaking of the “true” Simon and Garfunkel version (as opposed to the version where they added background music to in post to make it more “pop radio”), it’s a song that gives me chills.
Disturbed is not a band that I really enjoy. I remember in college, my (now) wife gave me a copy of a Disturbed CD, because she had two for some reason. I tried to listen to it, I really did. Didn’t do anything for me.
But this? Holy fuck, this is stunning. This is amazing.
This gives me chills.
Holy shit, you have to listen to the whole sing.
I have chills.
Holy SHIT.
This is the band who did “Down With The Sickness”????
UM?????
If you stop before three minutes you’re missing the truly mind-blowing bit
I made myself sad with an idea – when Aule made the dwarfs, and Eru found out, he wanted to destroy them first, and the original dwarf prototypes huddled together in fear and pleading for mercy. What if dwarfs have an unconscious recolletction of that, deep in their bones and souls, and they are so stubborn in their ways and unbending because they have the utmost need to be just as mahal made them else he’ll be displeased and will want to throw them away again.
